The EKAFREE double degree master course programme offers  the opportunity to become an international expert on rural development and agricultural (food) economics in its diversity of approaches and applications,

The EKAFREE master course programme, is a high level academic programme aimed at training top students from Europe and South Korea .It is master course programme is a 2 year master programme (120 ECTS) jointly organised by 5 European and 3 South Korean leading universities in rural development and agricultural economics. The methodology consists of a combination of basic and specialised training in technical, economic and social sciences, a case study of one month, an individual master dissertationand a high extent of student and scholar mobility.

Upon succesfull completion of the programme, students receive two diplomas (a double degree):

1) the European joint Degree "International Master of Science in Rural Development", and

2) the South Korean "Master of Arts in Economics".

The EKAFREE programme is funded by the European Commission's Industrialised Countries Instrument Education Cooperation Programme (ICI-ECP)The ICI-ECP grant allows European and South Korean students to receive a mobility grant. This allows European and South Korean students to fund their year abroad in South Korea and Europe respectively. 

EKAFREE is part of the International Master of Science in Rural Development (IMRD) consortium which organises three international master programmes leading to the awarding of a joint or a double degree in rural development and agricultural economics.
